How It Works

Do not exceed the maximum dose, as overuse of inhaled sympathomimetics can cause serious heart-related effects. Tell your doctor if you need Airsupra more often than usual, as your asthma plan may need review. Stop use and seek urgent care if you notice signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling, rash, or worsening breathing. Use with caution if you have heart conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or seizure disorders. Commonly reported side effects can include headache, cough, and mouth or throat irritation. Store at room temperature, keep away from heat and sunlight, and do not puncture the canister. Each actuation of Airsupra delivers albuterol 90mcg and budesonide 80mcg. The recommended dose is two actuations, giving a total of albuterol 180mcg and budesonide 160mcg.

Airsupra is the first inhaled corticosteroid and short-acting beta-agonist combination approved as an as-needed reliever for asthma. Each canister is a pressurised metered-dose inhaler containing 120 actuations, with a dose indicator that shows how many inhalations remain.

Use Airsupra only as prescribed by your doctor. The usual dose for adults 18 years and older is two inhalations taken as needed when asthma symptoms occur.

1. Prime the inhaler before first use by releasing four sprays into the air, and re-prime with two sprays if it has not been used for more than seven days, has been dropped, or after cleaning.

2. Shake well, breathe out gently, then inhale one actuation; repeat for the second actuation.

3. Rinse your mouth with water after use to help reduce the risk of oral thrush.

Do not use more than six doses (12 inhalations) in a 24-hour period.
