How Benzac AC Gel 5% Works

Benzoyl peroxide works by penetrating deep into blocked pores, releasing oxygen that destroys the P. acnes bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne. Unlike topical antibiotics, bacteria do not develop resistance to benzoyl peroxide, making it a reliable long-term acne treatment option. The Acrylates Copolymer (AC) beads in Benzac AC absorb up to four times their own weight in sebum, controlling excess oiliness without stripping the skin of moisture. Glycerol in the formulation helps reduce dryness and irritation commonly associated with benzoyl peroxide treatments.
