Description

Betnovate Cream 30g is a GSK-manufactured topical corticosteroid containing betamethasone valerate 0.1% w/w, clinically indicated to relieve the inflammation, itching, and redness associated with eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and other steroid-responsive skin conditions. Available at MedX Pharmacy in the UAE, it delivers targeted anti-inflammatory action to restore comfort to irritated and inflamed skin.

How It Works

Betnovate Cream works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory chemicals - including prostaglandins and histamines - that cause the redness, swelling, and intense itching of skin flare-ups. Betamethasone valerate, classified as a potent topical corticosteroid, binds to steroid receptors within skin cells to suppress this inflammatory cascade. The cream formulation is particularly suited to moist or weeping skin surfaces, allowing rapid absorption into the affected area.

Important Information

Betnovate Cream is a prescription-strength topical steroid intended for short-term use. Always consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist before starting treatment. Do not use Betnovate on acne, rosacea, or viral skin infections such as chickenpox or cold sores, as the steroid may worsen these conditions. Avoid prolonged use on large body areas or delicate skin sites including the face and skin folds without medical supervision. Patients should not smoke or approach open flames during use, as paraffin-based formulations may increase flammability of dressings and clothing. Store below 25 degrees C and protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.

How to Use

The dose of Eltroxin must be determined individually by your doctor based on TSH blood test results, age, weight, and cardiac status.

1. Take one tablet once daily on an empty stomach, 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast.

2. Swallow whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or halve.

3. Allow at least 4 hours between Eltroxin and calcium supplements, iron tablets, antacids, or bile acid sequestrants, as these impair absorption.

4. The dose may be increased gradually at 3 to 4 week intervals as directed by your doctor after TSH recheck.

5. Store below 25 degrees C in the original packaging, protected from light and moisture.
