• The body cannot create enough of the micronutrient L-citrulline, an amino acid that is conditionally needed but not essential, when it is under more stress, so it may need to be replenished.


• Citrulline is present in significant amounts in fruit, such as watermelon. L-citrulline malate is the result of the synergistic interaction between malic acid and L-citrulline amino acid. An organic acid that is present in nature is malic acid, often known as malate (found, for example, in apples).


• L-arginine and L-ornithine amino acids are derived from L-citrulline amino acid.
