Butalin 100mcg Inhaler 200 Metered Doses

Description

Butalin 100mcg Inhaler 200 Metered Doses is a fast-acting salbutamol reliever inhaler used for the quick relief of asthma symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness. Made by Julphar and trusted across the UAE, each actuation delivers 100mcg of salbutamol, a short-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles to make breathing easier, with 200 metered doses per inhaler.

How It Works

Salbutamol is a short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA) bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles surrounding the airways in the lungs, opening them up so air can move more freely and breathing becomes easier. Relief typically begins within about 5 to 10 minutes and can last for several hours. Because it acts quickly, Butalin is used as a reliever, or rescue, inhaler during symptoms rather than as a daily preventer.

Important Information

Butalin is a prescription medicine and should only be used as directed by a healthcare professional. Do not use if you are allergic to salbutamol or any of the other ingredients. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have thyroid problems, diabetes, serious heart disease, an irregular or fast heartbeat, high blood pressure, or a history of heart disease. Common, usually mild side effects can include feeling shaky, a faster heartbeat or headache, which normally pass quickly. Needing your reliever more than three times a week may mean your condition is not well controlled; consult your healthcare provider. Store below 30 degrees Celsius, away from direct sunlight and heat, and keep out of the reach of children. Have your inhaler technique checked regularly by your doctor or pharmacist.

Ingredients

Butalin contains a single active ingredient delivered as a metered-dose aerosol:

• Salbutamol 100mcg per actuation: a selective short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist that relieves bronchospasm.

• 200 metered doses per inhaler: a pressurised metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) that can be used with a spacer device if needed.

Butalin is used to relieve and prevent the wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness of asthma, to ease symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to prevent exercise-induced asthma when used before activity.

How to Use

Always use exactly as prescribed by your doctor. General guidance for the metered-dose inhaler:

1. Adults and children 12 years and over: 1 to 2 puffs as needed for relief of symptoms; for exercise-induced asthma, 2 puffs 10 to 15 minutes before activity.

2. Children aged 4 to 11 years: usually 1 puff as needed, which may be increased to 2 puffs if necessary, only under medical advice and adult supervision.

3. Do not use more than 8 puffs in 24 hours. Shake the inhaler before each puff and wait between puffs.

If you need your reliever more than 4 times a day, or it does not relieve symptoms for at least 3 hours, contact your doctor, as your asthma may not be well controlled.
