Description
Carrot Sun Watermelon Cream is a tan accelerating cream that helps you build a deeper, longer lasting golden tan while keeping skin hydrated and comfortable. This 350ml jar is the lightest and driest of the Carrot Sun creams, which makes it a good fit for oily, acne-prone or sensitive skin. Please note this is a tanning product, not a sunscreen: it contains no SPF and should be used alongside proper sun protection.
How Tan Accelerators Work
Tan accelerators support the skin's own tanning process rather than staining or colouring it artificially. L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that helps stimulate melanin production, the pigment responsible for your natural tan, while henna adds warmth and helps the colour last longer. Because the cream keeps skin well moisturised, the resulting tan tends to develop more evenly and fade more slowly. It only works with sun or sunbed exposure and will not tan skin on its own.
Important Sun Safety Information
This product contains no SPF and offers no protection from UV radiation. It is not a sunscreen and must not be used as a substitute for one. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen, and tan responsibly by increasing sun or sunbed exposure slowly rather than in long sessions, particularly under the strong UAE sun. The cream contains almond oil and wheat germ oil, so anyone with nut allergies, gluten intolerance or known skin sensitivities should consult a doctor or dermatologist before use. For external use only, and patch test first if your skin is reactive.
Ingredients
The watermelon formula pairs tan-supporting actives with nourishing oils to keep skin soft throughout the process:
• L-Tyrosine: an amino acid that supports the skin's natural melanin production for a faster, deeper tan
• Carrot Oil and Watermelon Seed Oil: hydrate and nourish, and help balance oil production on oily or acne-prone skin
• Henna: adds natural warmth to the tan and helps prolong the colour
• Almond Oil and Wheat Germ Oil: rich in vitamin E and fatty acids to keep skin soft and conditioned
The formula also contains lycopene, an antioxidant from watermelon. Note that the brand contains no added SPF filters, so antioxidants do not replace a sunscreen.
How to Use
For the best results, prepare your skin first and build your exposure gradually.
1. Exfoliate and shower beforehand to remove dead skin cells, which helps the tan last longer
2. Apply your sunscreen first, then massage a generous, even layer of the cream into the skin until fully absorbed
3. Go into the sun or onto a sunbed, increasing exposure time slowly and gradually over several sessions
4. Moisturise afterwards to help your tan last
The cream can be used on the face and body, and may stain light-coloured fabrics, so allow it to absorb before dressing.
