Cerazette Tablets 28s is a progestogen-only oral contraceptive containing 75 micrograms of desogestrel per tablet, manufactured by Organon to prevent pregnancy in women who prefer or require an estrogen-free birth control option. This 28-tablet blister pack provides a 4-week supply of the mini-pill, offering highly effective daily contraception that suits breastfeeding mothers, women sensitive to estrogen, and smokers over 35. Cerazette requires a valid prescription from your healthcare provider.
How It Works
Cerazette works through three complementary mechanisms. The desogestrel hormone suppresses ovulation, stopping the ovaries from releasing an egg each month. It also thickens the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach an egg, and thins the lining of the womb, reducing the chance that a fertilised egg could implant. When taken correctly, Cerazette is over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy without containing estrogen, which makes it suitable for women who cannot tolerate combined oral contraceptive pills.
Dosage
Take one Cerazette tablet daily at approximately the same time, swallowed whole with water. Follow the arrows printed on the blister pack:
1. Start with the tablet marked with the current day of the week from the top row
2. Take one tablet every day for 28 consecutive days without any pill-free break
3. Start a new pack the day after finishing the previous one
4. If you start on days 1 to 5 of your period, protection begins immediately
5. If starting at any other time, use a barrier method for the first 7 days
If you are more than 12 hours late in taking a dose, take the missed pill as soon as you remember and use barrier contraception for 7 days.
Important Information

Common side effects may include irregular bleeding, headache, nausea, acne, mood changes, or breast tenderness, most of which settle within three months.
