How It Works
Creon 25000 capsules contain enteric-coated minimicrospheres that dissolve rapidly in the stomach, releasing hundreds of tiny enzyme pellets. These minimicrospheres mix with food in the stomach and travel together into the small intestine, where the acid-resistant coating dissolves at pH above 5.5. The released enzymes - lipase (breaks down fats), amylase (breaks down starches), and protease (breaks down proteins) - then work to digest food so nutrients can be properly absorbed by the body.

1. Take capsules during or immediately after each meal and snack with sufficient water or other fluid
2. Swallow capsules whole - do not crush, chew, or hold in the mouth to avoid irritation of the oral mucosa
3. For patients who cannot swallow whole capsules, carefully open the capsule and mix the minimicrospheres with a small amount of soft, acidic food (such as applesauce) and swallow immediately without chewing
