Fluomizin 10mg Vaginal Tablets 6s

Description

Fluomizin 10mg vaginal tablets treat bacterial vaginosis with dequalinium chloride, a broad-spectrum antiseptic that acts directly at the site of infection. This pack of 6 tablets offers a simple six-night course that targets the bacteria responsible for symptoms such as unusual discharge and a fishy odour. As an antiseptic rather than an antibiotic, Fluomizin is often well tolerated and suits women seeking a local, antibiotic-free option for bacterial vaginosis.

How It Works

Fluomizin works locally inside the vagina, where its active ingredient damages the cell membranes of the bacteria that cause bacterial vaginosis, stopping them from multiplying. Dequalinium chloride has broad antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and certain fungi, and clinical studies have shown it to be comparable in effectiveness to treatments such as metronidazole and clindamycin while typically causing fewer systemic side effects.

Important Information

Do not use Fluomizin if you are allergic to dequalinium chloride, if you have ulcers of the vaginal lining or cervix, or if you have not yet had your first period. The most common side effects are local reactions such as vaginal discharge, itching or a burning sensation. Avoid soaps, spermicides and vaginal douches during treatment, and note that the product may reduce the effectiveness of non-latex condoms and diaphragms. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or your symptoms do not improve after the course, consult a healthcare provider. Store as directed on the pack and keep out of the reach of children.

Ingredients

Each Fluomizin vaginal tablet contains a single, clinically established active ingredient:

• Dequalinium chloride 10mg, a quaternary ammonium antiseptic and anti-infective agent

Because dequalinium chloride is absorbed only minimally through the vaginal wall, it works mainly at the site of infection. Refer to the patient information leaflet for the full list of excipients.

How to Use

Fluomizin is for intravaginal use by adult women. Use as directed by your healthcare provider:

1. Wash your hands before opening the blister pack.

2. Insert one vaginal tablet deeply into the vagina each evening before going to bed, ideally lying down with knees slightly bent.

3. Continue once daily for 6 days, completing the full course even if symptoms improve earlier.

4. Pause treatment during heavy menstrual bleeding and resume once it has stopped.

Do not use more than one tablet a day, as a higher dose will not improve results and may increase side effects. If you miss a dose, skip it and continue as usual rather than doubling up.
