Gasec 20mg contains the active pharmaceutical ingredient Omeprazole, a gastric acid-secretion inhibitor. This medication treats gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastric and duodenal ulcers, and erosive esophagitis by inhibiting the proton pump ($H^+/K^+$-ATPase enzyme system) within the gastric parietal cells.

Dosage & Administration

• 1 capsule per day for the treatment of GERD and gastric/duodenal ulcers.
• Administer orally in the morning.
• Incorporate into daily routine either before a meal or with food.
• Swallow whole with 100ml to 200ml of water.
• Do not crush or chew the capsules, as the enteric-coated pellets must remain intact for systemic absorption.
• 2 capsules per day may be indicated for H. pylori eradication or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, as directed by a healthcare professional.

• Precautions: Long-term use (>1 year) may increase the risk of bone fractures. Consult a physician if persistent diarrhea or unexplained weight loss occurs.
