Glucophage XR 1000mg is an oral antihyperglycemic agent containing Metformin Hydrochloride, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It provides physiological support by decreasing hepatic glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity through enhanced peripheral glucose uptake.

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage: 1 tablet (1000mg) per administration.
• Frequency: Once daily.
• Method: Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or bisect to preserve the extended-release matrix. Administer with 200ml of water.
• Timing: Administer with the evening meal to optimize gastrointestinal tolerance and maintain glycemic stability.
• Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 2000mg per day (2 tablets).

Safety & Storage

• Storage: Store in a dry location at temperatures below 30°C. Keep the container tightly closed.
• Warning: Monitor for symptoms of lactic acidosis. Temporarily discontinue use prior to radiologic studies involving iodinated contrast media.
