Hyalocid works physically rather than hormonally. The hyaluronic acid forms a hydrating protective film over the vaginal mucosa, while the lactic acid supports the naturally acidic pH that healthy vaginal flora depend on. Safety Information

Hyalocid is for vaginal use only. It is not a contraceptive and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Stop using it and seek advice if you develop persistent burning, stinging or irritation. If symptoms do not improve, recur, or come with fever, unusual discharge or pelvic pain, an infection may need proper diagnosis. Always consult your healthcare provider or a MedX pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, being treated for a vaginal infection, or already using another vaginal product.

• Hyaluronic acid: forms a moisturising protective barrier over the vaginal wall, supports the natural healing and regeneration of the mucosa, and helps limit contact between pathogenic bacteria and vulnerable tissue

The manufacturer gives two application schedules depending on why you are using it.

1. General use: insert the contents of 1 applicator into the vagina once daily for 7 to 10 days, preferably at bedtime.

2. For vaginal dryness: insert 1 applicator every 3 days, for a total of 10 applications spread over roughly 30 days.

3. Lie down comfortably, insert the applicator gently, press the plunger fully, then withdraw and dispose of the applicator. Do not reuse an applicator.

4. Applying at bedtime allows the gel to remain in contact with the mucosa overnight.
