1. Hold the can 15 to 20 cm from skin or clothing and spray with a slow, sweeping motion
2. Spread evenly with hands to cover all exposed skin; for the face, spray into your palm first and apply sparingly, avoiding eyes and mouth
3. Apply over outer clothing too; for ticks, spray cuffs, socks and openings in clothing
4. Reapply only as needed, typically every 6 to 8 hours; wash off with soap and water when back indoors
5. For children, apply to your own hands first, then to the child; do not use on infants under 2 months
