How It Works

This spray targets two cold symptoms through two complementary actions. Ipratropium bromide is an anticholinergic that reduces watery nasal secretions and helps calm sneezing, so both congestion and a runny nose are addressed together.

Important Information

Do not use this spray for more than 7 consecutive days, as prolonged use can cause rebound congestion. It is not suitable for children under 18, or for people with glaucoma, certain nasal conditions, or a known allergy to the ingredients or atropine-like substances. Otrivin Dual Relief contains two active ingredients per 1ml of solution:

• Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5mg (decongestant)

• Ipratropium bromide 0.6mg (anticholinergic)

Each metered spray delivers approximately 70 micrograms of xylometazoline hydrochloride and 84 micrograms of ipratropium bromide. The solution also contains disodium edetate, glycerol, and purified water, with hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide used to adjust the pH. The 10ml metered-dose bottle provides a consistent, measured dose to each nostril. Always check the pack, as formulations may be updated by the manufacturer.

For adults aged 18 years and over:

1. Blow your nose gently, then remove the protective cap.

2. Before first use, prime the pump by pressing it 4 times.

3. Insert the nozzle into one nostril and spray once, then repeat in the other nostril.

Use one spray in each nostril up to 3 times daily, leaving at least 6 hours between doses. Do not exceed the stated dose.
