How It Works

Paracetamol is a mild analgesic and antipyretic that works by reducing fever and easing mild to moderate pain. It is alcohol-free and aspirin-free, and is formulated with a pleasant strawberry taste to make dosing easier for infants and young children.

Important Information

Not recommended for babies under 2 months except on medical advice. Do not give with other paracetamol-containing medicines, as this can lead to an accidental overdose. If your child is under 3 months and has a fever, contact a doctor straight away. Keep a written record of doses and times to avoid giving a repeat dose too soon. Store below 25 degrees C, do not freeze, and keep out of the sight and reach of children. Each 5ml of Panadol Baby & Infants Suspension contains:

• Paracetamol 120mg per 5ml, a clinically established analgesic and antipyretic for paediatric pain and fever relief

Other ingredients include sorbitol, maltitol syrup (E965), parahydroxybenzoates (E216, E218), xanthan gum, malic acid, and strawberry flavour. Because it contains maltitol and sorbitol, parents whose child has been told they have an intolerance to certain sugars should speak to a doctor before use.

Always dose according to the child's weight where known, using the chart supplied with the pack. General guidance:

1. Shake the bottle well, then measure the dose with the included syringe or dosing device.

2. Children aged 3 months to 5 years: give the weight-matched dose, up to 4 times in 24 hours, leaving at least 4 hours between doses.

3. Babies aged 2 to 3 months (over 4kg, born after 37 weeks): give only under guidance, typically a smaller dose up to twice daily.

4. Do not exceed the stated dose, and do not give for longer than 3 days without asking a doctor.
