Description

Peptazol 30mg Capsules 28s contain lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid production to treat and manage conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and erosive esophagitis - a trusted prescription medication available at MedX Pharmacy in the UAE.

How It Works

Lansoprazole belongs to the proton pump inhibitor class of medications. It works by blocking the hydrogen-potassium ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) in the stomach's parietal cells, effectively reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces. This allows damaged tissue in the esophagus and stomach lining to heal while relieving symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough caused by acid reflux.

Important Information

Peptazol 30mg is a prescription medication. Do not use if you are allergic to lansoprazole or any ingredient in the formulation. Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, especially atazanavir (HIV medication), methotrexate, digoxin, or blood thinners, as lansoprazole may interact with these drugs. Common side effects include headache, nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation. Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures, vitamin B12 deficiency, or low magnesium levels - your doctor will monitor these risks. Do not take for more than 14 days without medical supervision. Store at room temperature below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting or stopping this medication.

Ingredients

• Lansoprazole 30mg (as enteric-coated pellets) - The active pharmaceutical ingredient in each gastro-resistant hard gelatin capsule. The enteric coating protects the medication from stomach acid, ensuring it is absorbed in the small intestine for maximum effectiveness.

Peptazol 30mg is prescribed for the following conditions in adults:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis

• Duodenal ulcers and benign gastric ulcers

• NSAID-associated gastric and duodenal ulcers (treatment and prevention)

• Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics)

• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

How to Use

1. Take the capsule whole with a glass of water - do not crush, chew, or open.

2. Take 30 minutes before a meal, preferably in the morning.

3. The usual dose is 15mg to 30mg once daily, as directed by your doctor.

4. For H. pylori eradication, the dose may increase to 30mg twice daily alongside prescribed antibiotics for 10 to 14 days.
