The Sinecod Syrup 200ml is a non-drowsy dry cough suppressant containing butamirate citrate, formulated by Haleon for the symptomatic relief of persistent, non-productive coughs in adults and children aged 3 years and above. How It Works

Sinecod Syrup acts centrally on the cough center in the brain through brainstem receptors, suppressing the cough reflex without affecting respiration or productive expectoration. Unlike codeine-based suppressants, butamirate citrate is non-narcotic, non-opioid, and does not induce dependence or addiction. It also provides mild bronchodilation and an anti-inflammatory effect, reducing airway resistance and calming the urge to cough at its neurological source.

Preferably take Sinecod Syrup before meals. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Rinse and dry the measuring cup between uses, especially when shared between family members.

Important Information

Sinecod Syrup is suitable for use from 3 years of age onwards and should not be given to younger children without medical supervision. Do not use during pregnancy, particularly the first trimester, or while breastfeeding without consulting a doctor. Avoid co-administration with expectorants such as bromhexine, as combining cough suppressants with expectorants may cause mucus retention and increase the risk of bronchospasm. Consult your healthcare provider before use if you have liver or kidney problems, or are taking other medications. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if cough symptoms persist beyond 7 days, worsen, or are accompanied by high fever.
