How Systane Hydration UD Eye Drops Work

Dry eye develops when the tear film breaks down and moisture evaporates faster than the eye can replace it. Hydroxypropyl guar transforms on contact with the ocular surface to form a protective gel-like coating, binding particularly well to areas already damaged by dryness. Sodium hyaluronate then draws in and holds water, keeping moisture where it is needed. Together they deliver extended lubrication rather than momentary wetness.

For ocular use only. Do not use if the solution changes colour or becomes cloudy, if the vial is open or damaged, or if you are sensitive to any ingredient. This product is not a contact lens cleaner or disinfectant, so never soak or disinfect lenses in it. Stop use and consult your eye care professional or healthcare provider if you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation, or if symptoms persist beyond 72 hours. Store below 30C and keep out of reach of children.

Each sterile 0.7ml single-use vial contains:

• Polyethylene glycol 400 (0.4%): a lubricant that coats and soothes the ocular surface

• Propylene glycol (0.3%): a lubricant that works alongside PEG-400 to reduce friction and dryness

• Sodium hyaluronate: hyaluronic acid, a humectant that binds water and holds it on the eye surface

• Hydroxypropyl guar (HP-Guar): a gelling agent that forms a protective coating over the eye

Also contains sorbitol, aminomethylpropanol, boric acid, sodium borate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride and purified water. Contains no preservatives.

1. Check the vial is intact and undamaged. Completely twist off the tab. Do not pull it off.

2. Tilt your head back and instill 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye or eyes, then blink.

3. Discard the vial after use, even if solution remains. Never reuse a vial.

Systane Hydration UD may be used as often as needed throughout the day to relieve dry eye symptoms. Contact lens wearers experiencing minor irritation, discomfort or blurring can place 1 or 2 drops directly onto the lens and blink two or three times. Never touch the vial tip to your eye or any surface.
