Tacroz Forte 0.1% Ointment 10g is a topical immunosuppressant containing tacrolimus 0.1% w/w, prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults. Manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, this calcineurin inhibitor offers a steroid-sparing alternative that effectively reduces itching, redness, and inflammation without the skin-thinning risks associated with long-term corticosteroid use - available at MedX Pharmacy UAE.
How It Works
Tacrolimus belongs to a class of medicines called topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCIs). It works by suppressing the overactive immune cells in the skin that trigger the inflammatory response responsible for eczema symptoms. Unlike topical corticosteroids, tacrolimus does not cause skin atrophy (thinning) even with prolonged use, making it particularly suitable for sensitive areas such as the face, neck, and skin folds. Clinical studies have shown that tacrolimus 0.1% is as effective as potent corticosteroids in treating atopic dermatitis.
