This simple-to-use serum has less irritation potential than direct forms of vitamin C since it contains a water-soluble derivative of vitamin C that, once administered, transforms back into vitamin C. Note: Vitamin C is unstable in water when it is pure. One vitamin C derivative that is soluble in water is ascorbyl glucoside. Although it is less effective than straight L-ascorbic acid, it is far more stable in water.
