Travogen 1% Cream 20g is a broad-spectrum antifungal cream containing isoconazole nitrate, used to treat superficial fungal infections of the skin. With 10mg of isoconazole nitrate per gram, this Bayer dermatological cream helps clear common conditions such as athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, and other fungal skin infections, relieving the itching and irritation that come with them when applied as directed by a doctor.

How It Works

Isoconazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal with a broad spectrum of activity against the dermatophytes and yeasts responsible for most superficial skin infections, and it is also active against some gram-positive bacteria. It works by disrupting the fungal cell membrane, stopping the fungi from growing and helping to settle the itching, burning, and redness associated with the infection.

Important Information

Travogen is for external use on the skin only. If applied to the genital area, the liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms, so additional contraceptive measures are needed. Use in infants and children should only be under a doctor's supervision. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, use only after consulting a doctor, and do not apply to the nipple area while nursing. Store below 25 degrees C, and stop use and seek advice if irritation or a sensitivity reaction develops. Always consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist if symptoms do not improve.

Each 1g of Travogen Cream contains:

• Isoconazole nitrate 10mg per gram, equivalent to 1% w/w, a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal

Other ingredients include polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, white soft paraffin, and purified water. The cream contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals.

Always follow your doctor's instructions. General guidance for skin use is:

1. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area once daily, unless your doctor advises otherwise.

2. Continue treatment for the full course, usually 2 to 3 weeks and sometimes up to 4 weeks for stubborn infections.

3. To help prevent the infection returning, keep applying for at least 2 weeks after the skin appears to have healed.

4. Wash your hands thoroughly after each application, and dry the affected area carefully, especially between the toes or fingers.
