Betadine Sore Throat Spray delivers povidone-iodine directly to the inflamed mucous membrane of the throat. Povidone-iodine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic with rapid virucidal, bactericidal and fungicidal action, and it is effective against streptococcal organisms, including those associated with streptococcal tonsillitis. By reducing the microbial load at the site of discomfort, it supports symptomatic relief of sore throat and may be used for mucosal infections of the mouth and pharynx. The mint-flavoured solution makes application more comfortable while the spray format allows precise, targeted delivery.

Important Information

Do not use this product if you are allergic to povidone-iodine or iodine, if you have a thyroid condition such as hyperthyroidism, if you have dermatitis herpetiformis, or if you are undergoing radioiodine therapy. Tell your doctor if you are taking lithium or are due to have a thyroid function test, as iodine may interfere with results. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only if specifically advised by your doctor and keep use to a minimum. A mild, temporary stinging sensation may occur after spraying.
