Doxiproct Plus Rectal Ointment 20g
Description

Doxiproct Plus Rectal Ointment 20g is a triple-action topical treatment for internal and external hemorrhoids that combines calcium dobesilate, lidocaine and dexamethasone to ease pain, swelling, bleeding and itching at the anal site. With a supplied applicator for internal use, it delivers targeted relief for piles and related anorectal discomfort for adults across the UAE.

How It Works

Doxiproct Plus works through three complementary actions. Calcium dobesilate is a vasoprotective agent that strengthens small blood vessel walls, reduces their permeability and fragility, and improves blood flow to relieve inflammation in piles. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the area to ease pain. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling, redness and itching, giving comprehensive relief from hemorrhoidal discomfort.

Important Information

• For rectal and external anal use only; this medicine requires medical advice

• Do not use if you are hypersensitive to calcium dobesilate, lidocaine, dexamethasone or any ingredient

• Because it contains a corticosteroid, prolonged or repeated use should only be under medical supervision

• If pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines, consult a healthcare provider before use

• Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and light, and keep out of the reach of children

Use only as directed and consult a healthcare provider before starting any new medication.

Ingredients

• Calcium dobesilate 40mg per gram, a vasoprotective agent for blood vessel walls

• Lidocaine 20mg per gram, a local anaesthetic for pain relief

• Dexamethasone acetate 0.25mg per gram, a corticosteroid for inflammation and itching

• Manufactured by OM PHARMA; supplied with an applicator cannula for internal use

How to Use

Always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. The typical regimen is:

1. Apply 2 to 3 times daily, in the morning and at bedtime, ideally after a bowel movement.

2. For internal hemorrhoids, screw the supplied cannula onto the tube, insert it as deep as comfortable into the anus, then gently press the tube while withdrawing it.

3. For external hemorrhoids or anal itching, apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area several times a day.

4. Treatment is generally for a few days. Inform your doctor if symptoms have not improved after 1 to 2 weeks, and do not repeat treatment without medical advice.
