Triluma Cream 30g is the only FDA-approved triple-combination topical treatment specifically designed to reduce moderate to severe melasma on the face. Combining fluocinolone acetonide (0.01%), hydroquinone (4%), and tretinoin (0.05%) in a single formulation, Triluma targets different pathways of hyperpigmentation to deliver clinically proven results - with 77% of patients achieving clear or near-clear skin within 8 weeks of treatment in clinical trials.
How It Works
Triluma Cream uses a synergistic triple-action approach to treat melasma. Hydroquinone interrupts melanin synthesis to lighten darkened skin. Tretinoin accelerates skin cell turnover, helping to shed pigmented cells and improving the penetration of hydroquinone into the skin. Fluocinolone acetonide, a mild corticosteroid, reduces inflammation and irritation caused by the other two active ingredients while also helping to decrease melanin production. This precise combination addresses the root causes of melasma from multiple angles simultaneously.
Important Information
Triluma Cream is a prescription medication intended for short-term use (up to 8 weeks) only. Do not use this cream if you are pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant, as it may cause birth defects. Triluma contains sulfites that may cause severe allergic reactions in sulfite-sensitive individuals. Common side effects include redness, peeling, burning, dryness, and itching at the application site. The cream contains a corticosteroid that may cause skin thinning with prolonged use. Store in the refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. Melasma may recur after discontinuing treatment - consult your dermatologist about a long-term management plan. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting or stopping this medication.
Each gram of Triluma Cream contains three clinically proven active ingredients:
• Hydroquinone (4%) - a depigmenting agent that inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, reducing the formation and synthesis of melanin to help even and lighten skin tone
• Tretinoin (0.05%) - a retinoid derived from vitamin A that promotes skin cell renewal, facilitates pigment elimination, and enhances the penetration of hydroquinone
• Fluocinolone Acetonide (0.01%) - a mild topical corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties that reduces irritation and helps inhibit melanin synthesis
This is a prescription-only medication. Use only as directed by your dermatologist or healthcare provider.
